We are currently quoting about 12 months lead time on all Signature Series rods. We can deliver a Patriot Series rod in about 6-8 weeks.
Because we typically produce rods in batches, from time to time we have a rod available that is not spoken for. The following rods are either in stock for immediate delivery or will be available soon. Please inquire to reserve a rod or request additional information.
02/16/08 Available! This is a 2p. 2t. Signaure Series model, 8' 4wt! Dark flamed beauty, oxided hardware, d/l Venerri cap and ring seat w/gorgeous amboena spacer, swelled butt. A fantastic spring creek rod for DT4 line, throws a delicate line and yet can also lay out an incredible length of line. All the usual Signature Series bells and whistles. $2,145. SOLD!
11/10/07 I've finished out two rods in anticipation of the upcoming holiday and show seasons:
The first is a 6'5" 2 piece Signature Series quad, a delightful 3-4 wt. ideal for small stream fishing or small flies on bigger water. Smooth medium fast action, blued hardware, amboena spacer, cute little swelled butt...all the usual Signature Series bells and whistles. SOLD!
The second is a 7'3" 4-5 wt. Patriot Series rod. The 7'3" is our best-selling rod and will cast either a DT4 or 5. Sweet and smooth. SOLD!
05/20/07 For the first time in many moons, we have a rod available for immediate delivery. Like some other rods we've had available in the past, this one is the result of a screwup. I had the rod all done and ready to deliver, and asked Casimira to prepare the invoice...and it wasn't until then that I found out the customer wanted the 2p. version, and not a 3 piece. Duh! Sure wish I'd catch these mistakes before the rod is due, but anyway...
This is a 3p. Signature Series rod, 8' for Dt4, with all the Signature Bells and Whistles. Dark flamed cane, T&T-style swelled butt, D/L cap and ring seat with a beautifully figured amboena spacer, oxidized ferrules and seat hardware, black guides and agate stripper. $2,175. SOLD!
9/01/06 Been working long hours lately, keeping up with rod orders and making some production changes. This has allowed us to make a couple extra blanks and so within 3 weeks we'll have a couple rods available for immediate delivery for the first time in many, many moons.
These three rods are: (2) 7'3" 4-5 Signature Series rods, one in hex(update SOLD!) and one in quad(update 9/08- Sold!). These rods have all of the standard bells and whistles of our Signature line. The third is a 7'#" 4-5 Patriot Quad. (update 9/05 SOLD!)
New Listing: J.D. Wagner Signature Series 3p, 2t. 7'3" 4-5 wt. This rod was made in March on 1997, and is the 10th rod we made of this taper in 3-piece configuration. Features our early cosmetics: dark flamed cane, clear silk wraps with black tipping, agatine stripping guide, bright ferrules, western grip with a stunning light ash burl spacer for a Bellinger uplocking seat. Fished only 3 times by the owner, who has moved to Fla and won't be trout fishing. Comes complete with our early hexagonal wood rod tube...this tube is highly figured curly maple with a golden amber stain. VGC+, $1300. Sold!
New Listing: J.D. Wagner Signature Series 2p, 2t. 7' 1-2 wt. This rod was made in November of 1998 and is the FIRST rod we ever made in this taper. Features our early cosmetics: dark flamed cane, clear silk wraps with black tipping, agate stripping guide, bright ferrules, cigar grip with d/l NS cap and wedding band seat over cork.Very lightly fished and in VGC+ condition, this rod is for the expert angler...calm days, tiny flies, flat water and selective fish. Newly Listed: J.D. Wagner Signature Series 6' 3 wt., 2p. 2t. In the last couple years we've had only two rods available for immediate delivery. In both cases, I screwed up! This year we sent a 7'3" 2 piece to Marty Keane after I discovered I had cut a two piece blank for a customer that wanted a 3-piece rod! Duh! This rod is a similar mistake. A customer wanted a 6'3" version of our 6' 3 wt. but I forgot and made it 6' as usual! SOLD!
This rod features our normal Signature Series bells and whistles: mirror matched tips, a stunning piece of amboena burl in the d/l can and ring seat, dark reddish brown transluscent wraps with delicate black tipping, agate stripper, 6" cigar grip, etc. The cane is flamed lighter then we normally do, as this is what the customer wanted...it's a nice caramel color. Newly Listed! J.D. Wagner 8' 5-6 wt., 3p., 2t. Signature Series Model: Based on the Leonard Hunt model, this is the first rod we ever made in this taper(serial #1). Deeply flamed cane, transluscent silk(clear) with delicate black tipping, uplocking reel seat with a very fine burl spacer. Rod has been very lightly fished, is straight and tight 'as new' condition. Also comes with a hexagonal walnut case as was our practice at the time this rod was built. $1,350/offer. SOLD!

Medium flamed cane, mirror matched tips, olive green transluscent silk wraps w/ delicate black tipping, full olive color diminutive 3 wrap intermediates w/signature wrap in olive, black and red silk, oxidized ferrules wrapped black, black titanium guides w/agate stripper, u/l nickel silver screw lock reelseat w/highly figured amboena spacer. Built for my own personal use this spring season, this rod drew many raves of appreciation at rodbuilder's gatherings and on the stream. J.D. Wagner Signature Series 8' 4-5 wt. 2p., 2t. This rod model was one of those reviewed by author Ed Engle in his feature on us in the Winter '98 edition of the Angler's Journal. A medium fast rod with a DT4 and a bit slower with a DT5, this taper was taken from a delightful F.E. Thomas, c. 1920. Beautifully flamed cane, transluscent silk wraps, nicely figured maple burl spacer on a uplocking screw lock seat. NEW! $1,425. SOLD!

J.D. Wagner Patriot Series 7' 3 wt.: 2p, 1 t. This taper is not usually cataloged in our Patriot Series rods. We had to make the same model as a Signature Series rod, so we decided to also make an extra rod in this taper. This is a fast rod and the taper derived is from a Leonard I had the opportunity to restore last year. Very delicate and fast action for a DT3 line. Have a ball fishing those small streams! 8' 2p. 5-6 wt. Signature Series: Modeled after the infamous Young Para 15, this rod is a real cannon! All the features of this series, and a great big-water rod. As the original, this rod was made with both the wet and dry fly tips. The dry tip handles lines 5 and 6, and the slightly heavier wet fly tip is best with a DT6 or WF 7. 7' 1-2 weight Patriot Series: We normally don't make this rod in this series, but we made another Signature rod in this model and thought: why not? 7'3" 4-5 wt. Patriot Series: The same great action in our most popular Signature Series rod, as well as the most versitile rod for our trout fishing in the East. SOLD!
8' 5-6 wt. Patriot Series: As the 7' 1-2 wt. above, we had an order for this rod in the Signature Series, so we produced one for this line also. As described above, this rod is a cannon and since these rods are supplied as single tip models, we decided to build it with the dry tip. A casting machine! SOLD!
